Hanoverian triumph in Luhmühlen
Sensationally, two Hanoverians won the two competitions including the German Championships at the prestigious event in Luhmühlen.
The five-star event was won by Charly van ter Heiden and British rider Mollie Summerland, the victory in the four-star event went to fischerChipmunk FRH and Germany’s Michael Jung. With this brilliant performance, the double Olympic gold medallist also became German Champion.
The Contendros Bube/Escudo II son Charly van ter Heiden, bred by Klaus Steffens, Stinstedt, and his rider Mollie Summerland triumphed in the CCI5*-L with a flawless start-finish victory. This makes the twelve-year-old bay the first Hanoverian five-star winner in the history of eventing and his rider the youngest winner in Luhmühlen. The British rider discovered Charly van ter Heiden in 2014 – when she was 16 years old – trained the bay carefully and brought him up to the very highest level.
In equally impressive form are fischerChipmunk FRH by Contendro/Heraldik xx (breeder: Dr. Hilmer Meyer-Kuhlenkampff, Behlmer) and Michael Jung. The clear goal of the two: Defence of Olympic gold in Tokyo. After the victories in Radolfzell/GER, Marbach/GER and Baborowkow/POL, the victory in the CCI4*-S Luhmühlen is another highlight of the season. The two finished the competition with their dressage result. That also gave them the German Champion title.
